Essen Motor Show (Duitsland)
Crossing the finishing line at full speed: 304,200 automobile fans visited the Essen Motor Show 2010. The new concept went down well: The focusing on automobile sportiness, the large number of premieres and a lot of show and action with celebrities from racing and television aroused the enthusiasm of the visitors. 507 exhibitors offered a first-rate automobile experience on 110,000 square metres in all 18 halls at Messe Essen. "With the entire team, we are happy about the trust and the more than positive feedback from the exhibitors and the visitors," according to the Managing Directors of Messe Essen, Frank Thorwirth and Egon Galinnis.
"Fantastic cars, a gigantic range of available tuning parts and accessories and mega action too!" The visitors lavished great praise on the most diverse automobile fair. 93 percent made a positive assessment of their visits to the fair and praised the range on offer. More than half of the visitors travelled over 100 kilometres. 23 percent came from abroad; the largest groups from the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Czech Republic.
Motor sport and sporty automobiles - particular attention focused on both these attributes. The automobile manufacturers highlighted their successes in motor sport competitions and displayed the sportiness of their vehicles. For example, Hyundai presented the new Genesis coupé as a German premiere and Skoda the two Fabia RS+ and Octavia RS+ studies. The exhibitors displayed numerous innovations in the Tuning section, also including several world premieres. The vehicles which could be seen for the first time included the BMW 5-Series Touring by AC Schnitzer, the Renault Wind by Elia, the Porsche Panamera by Caractere, the Volvo V 60 by Heico Sportiv and the Brabus SV 12 R Biturbo 800 - the most powerful luxury saloon car in the world.
